My newest radio commentary for WHQR Wilmington. They told me they didn't want me to talk about food so much anymore to talk more about my family. So, here is my attempt to do that.

I looked at part 1 of this blog post and it says I would publish part 2 in February! What lies! Here we are May 2013 and I am updating it. In my defense, I found out I am pregnant and got a little distracted.

I spent the last 3 years watching the notion of conventional wisdom come crashing down around me. Now, I have busted one of the most pervasive myths of conventional wisdom but no one agrees with me.

The longer I don't have symptoms the farther away the disease, Multiple Sclerosis, seems. It's still there though. I am not cured. BUT I feel the best I have ever felt in my life. At 38 years old.

So Jack Osborne has MS. He also does Crossfit. I hope he makes the connection between the autoimmune protocol of paleo and relieving his MS. And I hope he speaks out about it so more people can learn about it which might motivate some billionaire to sponsor a study about it even though there is no money to be made with it.

This is the first in a series of pieces I am hoping to broadcast on my local NPR station. This is a rough draft, I would love to hear your comments.

Rachel Sanders has 4 kids, a celiac Dad and arthritic mother. She put them all on paleo and herself on the AIP of paleo and is loving it. I love her because she is my savvy friend (from highschool!)

The weekly farmer's market full of nightshades leaves me feeling deflated. And a flounder recipe!

How did I make the connection between the paleo diet and the MS Diet book? And how did I actually start doing it? It all comes down to Crossfit. My box (what we call the gym), Crossfit Wilmington (CFW), is an amazing place that encouraged me to eat paleo and work out optimally. I am really lucky to have found it. Or I should say, I am really lucky my sister forced it down my throat.

For the past year, I have been, among other things, eating only meat and vegetables in an effort to cure myself of MS. It’s working. This web site is an effort to put all the things I have read and used to shape my recovery in one place. Once I realized how effective this lifestyle is for controlling my MS (and all autoimmune issues) I thought other people would want to try it too. So, here is my effort to make it easier for you to get through it.
